according to Alan Deacon 'I am confident the Winter Sleigh Ride painting by Maud Lewis is authentic. The work is a serial image. In other words there are similar paintings but no two paintings are alike. I believe I'm looking at a paper backing. The painting has been done on beaverboard or Masonite.The work looks to be in excellent condition.'
