Artist Levy Jr.
Title Untitled - Man Removing Pants
Media black stone carving
Size 5 x 6.5 x 2.5 in. / 12.7 x 16.5 x 6.4 cm.

Notes
signed and inscribed '23035' on bottom

Reference
according to the consignor, 'Our Levy - a man removing his pants, is curiously expressionistic. Its central focus is an exposed penis. But it is just a stub, the phallus couchant. The paradox is the different lengths of the arms. Even allowing for the possible loss of the right fist, the man’s left arm is dramatically longer than the right. This work seems to be about anatomical expansion. The arms demonstrate the physical possibility of extension, that tacitly applies to the penal stump as well. The man’s stretching may suggest an erection.'
