Bill Brownridge was born in Rosetown, Saskatchewan in 1932. He was born with a condition called Spina bifida. In 1981 Brownridge received a commission from the Calgary Winter Olympic Development Association to create a series of silkscreens depicting winter Olympic games. They were used as part of Calgary’s presentation for 1988 Winter Olympics. In 1993, he was commissioned to design new uniforms for the Calgary Flames Hockey Team. He fully retired from working as a commercial artist in 1995 to become a full time artist and write.
