Barriefield, Ontario, is a historic, picturesque village located in the east end of Kingston, known as the first designated Heritage Conservation District in Ontario (1980). Established in 1814 near CFB Kingston, it features 19th-century architecture, including St. Mark's Anglican church, lots of scenic views of the Cataraqui River, and a quaint, village-within-a-city atmosphere characterized by limestone homes.
