Biographical Information
Claude A. Simard ~ [1943-2014] Canadian RCA
Simard studied at Petit Séminaire de Québec and Académie de Québec then graduated in 1966 from Toronto’s Ontario College of Art in visual communications. He worked in advertising, commercial art, and graphic design, eventually founding his own firm, Groupe Communikart and winning several awards. He was a co-founding member of the Quebec Graphic Designers Society and became a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts in 1981. Despite a busy schedule of business and teaching he always maintained his own artistic practise and is represented in galleries and collections across Canada. He also published 3 books on his passions of gardening and painting.
