Reference
according to the artist, 'A Woman Walking [the City Limits] [2016] was a performance commissioned for the M:ST Performative Arts Festival in which the artist attempted to trace the municipal boundary of Mohkinstsis / Calgary on foot using a City of Calgary digital boundary map as a guide. The project resulted in a series of 14 photographs, a video, and a map. The photographic series pairs found objects with landscapes encountered along the route, linking everyday materials with questions of land ownership and restricted access at the city's edge. Through objects encountered along the route, the series reflects on how cultural traces shape embodied experiences of movement at the city's edge and across its boundaries. An edition of the series is held in the collection of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and individual photographs are held in private collections.'
