the Saamis Tepee is currently the tallest teepee in the world, it was built for the 1988 Calgary Olympics and was later purchased by Medicine Hat philanthropist Rick Filanti. In 1991 he donated it to the City of Medicine Hat where it now stands on the Saamis Archeological Site. Loosely translated, Saamis is 'Medicine [Man] Hat')
